Message Outline
John 12:24
New life arises from what looks dead.
Describes the character and nature of the coming King: wisdom, might, justice, truth.
The nature of all relationships is changed by the nature of the King. This passage is often called the "Peaceable Kingdom."
The Messiah-King raises a banner of salvation, calling all nations (people groups).
The King has come, and the Kingdom has begun, but it will not be completed until Jesus comes again.
King Jesus brings new life to things that seem dead. All humans come into the world spiritually dead, but He can bring new life to us.
Ephesians 2:1
Romans 6:23
John 3:5-6
Jesus rules believer's lives, but he waits for us to surrender every part of our lives to Him.
Identify the areas that are lifeless--without fruit, and ask the Lord if He would like to bring new life to it.
King Jesus changes our relationships by changing our nature.
Jesus changed the nature of the relationship between Jewish people and Gentiles by breaking down the barrier and making peace through the cross.
Ephesians 2:14-16; 3:6
Identify where there is no peace and ask God if someone's nature needs to be changed--even if it is yours!
Like Ernest Gordon's story in To End All Wars, today, even in our "House of Death", Jesus can reach into the worst situation to change the very nature of our relationships.
